Most of the day, we're observing, not directing. We use cinematic tools where they serve the story, but we try to avoid asking couples to redo a first look just for additional angles. The goal is to capture the day as it actually happens, not turn it into a production.
Documentary doesn't mean strictly chronological, though. There's a creative editing element in how we shape your story. The raw material we're working with has to be true to what actually happened.
We use as many sources as the situation allows. A lavalier on the officiant, a lav on one partner, a direct feed from the DJ or band's soundboard, plus in-camera audio. Not every venue or moment makes every option possible, but we build in as many backups as we can so when one source struggles, there are others to lean on.
Audio is the part of a wedding film couples don't think about until they watch the final cut. It's often the difference between a film you rewatch and one you don't.
