Wedding Video at The Willows, Villanova

The Willows is a Spanish Revival mansion built in 1910, set on a hill inside Willows Park Preserve, a 49-acre public park in the heart of Philadelphia's Main Line. It's one of those venues where the setting does real work. The long driveway approach, the courtyard, the solarium opening onto a curved terrace with the pond below. Our job is to make sure the film actually reflects what the day felt like there, not just what the place looks like.

What we pay attention to here

The ceremony at The Willows typically takes place at the front of the mansion, where the winding driveway becomes the processional and the Spanish Revival facade serves as the backdrop. It photographs beautifully, and it films beautifully too. Because the venue is compact and well-designed, guests aren't spread out across a large property. Everyone is close together, which means the camera can stay near the couple without sacrificing coverage of the crowd.

The interior of the mansion has its own character entirely. The solarium has Italian marble terrazzo floors and glass doors that open onto the terrace. The paneled library and the dining room feel like a different era. When the reception room is still empty, those details read on camera in a way that sets the tone for everything that follows. We get in there before the doors open.

A note from us on filming at The Willows

Everything is in one place here. The ceremony, cocktail hour, the reception, all of it happens within the same property, which makes the day feel more connected and makes our job easier. Guests aren't shuttling anywhere. The energy stays in one place. And the space itself is genuinely unlike anything else on the Main Line. The grounds and the interior feel like two different worlds that somehow make sense together. You're up on a hill, surrounded by 49 acres of preserve, inside a mansion that was built in 1910 and still looks exactly like it should. It feels like stepping back in time, and it translates on camera. The staff at The Willows are also some of the most professional and collaborative people we work with. Honestly, it's a privilege to film there.
Frequently Asked

Filming weddings at The Willows.

Is The Willows good for outdoor ceremony filming?

Yes. The processional at The Willows comes straight out the front door of the mansion. The bridal suite is upstairs, so the walk down the interior staircase and out through the front entrance is a natural, unforced moment before the ceremony even begins. It's a genuinely cinematic setup. The space at the front of the building also gives us real flexibility for camera placement, and depending on the day and timeline, it's one of the better spots on the Main Line for drone footage of the processional.

How do you handle the transition from outdoor ceremony to indoor reception?

We split the team during cocktail hour. One camera stays with guests on the grounds and patios while the other gets inside to document the reception spaces before the crowd arrives. The solarium, the dining room, the details of the room while it's still quiet. Those shots are gone once people fill the space.

What does a Willows wedding film cost?

Stagger Films wedding collections at The Willows typically run between $5,500 and $12,000, depending on coverage hours, team size, and add-ons.

How far in advance should we book?

The Willows holds a limited number of weddings per year and peak Saturdays book out 12 to 18 months ahead. We recommend booking your film at least 9 months in advance.
